Vedieka Dutt has teamed up with Jimmy Shergill for the upcoming film Operation Mayfair, which is being directed by none other than acclaimed filmmaker Sudipto Sarkar, the film stars Vedieka Dutt, Jimmy Shergill, Ankur Bhatia, Hritiqa Chheber, Sneha Singh, Vedant Sarkar and Anjali Sharma.
Vedieka Dutt, who hails from West Bengal, has been acting since the age of 16. Speaking about her journey Vedieka stated “I moved to Mumbai from Kolkata in 2017… I began my career as a model and began doing commercials and in three months, I landed a small cameo in Nandita Das’ ‘Manto’.Later, I did a web series for Sony LIV called Kathmandu Connection, and then went south to do a Telugu film called ‘Gangster Gangaraju’ in 2022. I’ve done over 50 commercials including Amitabh ji, Pooja Hedge, Neil Nitin Mukesh, and Sonu Sood.
The ‘ Operation Mayfair’ trailer begins with a female fashion model being murdered in London by a serial killer. Amar Singh, played by Jimmy Shergill, a London Police detective, is assigned to help with the investigation. Amar begins his investigation with no clues or forensic evidence. He wishes to solve the case in his way and requests that the team cooperate and work in his direction. He works on the case and investigates, discovering that the killer is left-handed and receiving a very good clue that leads him to the killer.
Meanwhile, Vedieka has done a web series, Hindi and Telugu films while she was waiting for an opportunity on the big screen. Shares her story on how she got the role in ‘Operation Mayfair’ “I auditioned for this film several times, and Narayan Sir, with whom I did four or five commercials, recommended me for it. It’s a cop role, and I’ll be regarded as a DCI. Lisa Varma leads a team in search of a serial killer on the loose in this film. I am grateful to Narayan Sir and Sudipto Sir for this opportunity. This was a somewhat challenging role for me.
Other than Operation Mayfair Vedieka spoke about her upcoming projects “Currently, I’m working on a Kannada and Telugu bilingual film called ‘Ruby,’ in which I play a character named Nisha. For that, I had to change my entire look, including colouring my hair red and green because the character is a happy go lucky carefree girl, so that’s different from what I did in Operation Mayfair, and yes, two projects in the south are in the works, which are also very exciting for me but I can’t reveal much about them as they’re in the pre-production stage.” Ruby is expected to be released by the end of the year.
Helmed by Sudipto Sarkar and produced by Bhushan, the film Operation Mayfair is released today.
Cricket legend Kapil Dev along with industrialist Pawan Kumar Patodia, Kaushik Ghosh, actor Zaid Sheikh, Uma Vishal Agarwal and Varun Goenka are all set to bring to viewers an interesting show named ‘Driving with The Legends’. The show was recently launched in Mumbai. Ranjeet , Shiv thakare of Bigg Boss, Anand Kumar , Dr. Yogesh Lakhani of Bright Outdoor Media Ltd and other guests attended the event . The first season will be shot extensively in Switzerland. The show will be produced under the banner of The Legend Studios LLC.
Kaushik Ghosh said, “The idea is to have a legend and a few other celebrities with whom about 10 fans globally would join for a 7-day driving trip in Switzerland. We will select these fans through a global online audition campaign. The first chapter will be all about Kapil Dev .”
The show will be directed by the popular director Haider Khan, who has already intrigued everyone by the teaser that was played during the launch event with his unique vision and portrayal of Kapil Dev. Haider Khan is considered to be amongst the world’s best photographers, winning the gold at the prestigious PX3 2021 Prix de la Photographie de Paris. His movies have previously premiered in Halifax, the black film festival in Canada, Durban film festival and others.
Paul Nuber, the former CXO at Nestle has also come on board as the company’s first foreign investor, demonstrating the strong potential of the concept and the confidence of the foreign investors in the Indian sports-entertainment industry.
The entire journey on the show will be hosted by Archana Vijaya, with surprise elements planned and announced with the signing of Krushna Abhishek, Jaan Kumar Sanu and Esha Gupta. After producing critically acclaimed and immensely successful ‘Monica Oh My Darling’ (2022) and ‘Three Of Us’ (2022), the well-known production house had won the hearts of people across the globe with its world premiere at the prestigious film festival. ‘All India Rank’ has been directed by Varun Grover who is also a national award winning lyricist, screenplay writer and a popular stand-up comedian.
‘All India Rank’ is a coming of age drama which stars Bodhisattva Sharma, Samta Sudiksha, Shashi Bhushan, Geeta Agrawal and Sheeba Chaddha in the prominent roles. The film has been co-produced by Clock Tower Pictures.
Produced by MatchBox Shots and directed by Varun Grover, ‘All India Rank’ was shown at IFFR as the closing film of the festival. The film premiered on 5th February which was attended by director Varun Grover, producer Sanjay Routray, DOP Archana Ghangrekar along with the lead actors of the film.

Notably, the film is set in the late 90s, the pre-mobile era where 17 year old Vivek is sent away from home to a coaching centre to prepare for the highly competitive Indian Institute of Technology entrance exams.
Talking about his directorial debut as a feature film director with ‘All India Rank’ Varun Grover says, “We all struggle when we are 17. The hormonal desires called love, the constant swinging between ‘ambition’ and ‘mediocrity’, the generational trauma of parents – all create a minor-key horror-comedy around us. With ‘All India Rank’, I want to capture exactly that phase of our lives, the phase of joy and confusion, love and doubt, hope and cynicism.”
He further adds, “The film is semi-autobiographical slice-of-life dramedy as well as a time capsule of life in the India of the 1990s – a time of American-style capitalism entering India – giving rise to a new consumerist middle-class that valued STEM over liberal arts because of market compulsions. Vivek, the protagonist, like me struggles with these new concepts that place personal joy beneath ‘value you bring to the society.”

Soorma film producer Deepak Singh is back with a bang as he is all set to come up with the new festival film ‘Continuity’. The film has very unique and few elements which make it different from other films.
The story revolves around a shooting crew member (production controller) who meets a hawker and the changes to his life as a result of the meeting.
Interestingly, Film has an amazing cast. The Lead face Phalguni Khanna is all set to debut on the silver screen with her fantastic performance in the film. She is a renowned face in the ad world, having done more than 100 ads. This is her first film in Hindi.
Karan Singh Chabra, a famous host and actor, is also featured in the film. His role is very satisfying to him. Deepakji met Karan Singh Chabra at the time of IIFI at Goa, and Karan told him that he wanted to do a short film, and Deepak ji offered him Continuity.
splitsville fame Soundous Moufakir will also be seen as a fascinating character in the film. Hailing from Morocco, Soundous is making her debut through this film.
“A total of 28 characters were in the short film of 20 minutes. And a 118-person crew, who worked day and night consistently to make it a success. Dipayan Mandal, Vikas Kumar, and Jenny sarkar were a great help to me in making and setting up this film” Deepak Singh said.

The two creative heads from their individual backgrounds are coming together in this pop-up and self-curating the whole exhibition. “We thought of curating brands that are out of the box and we wanted to put both our visions to use. We have hand-picked local designers whose collections we enjoy wearing ourselves, and whose collections we look forward to associating with. With this event, we want to create a platform for the up-and-coming designers who exist all over India so they could get a chance to build a foundation for their brands, make versatile connections, and create brand awareness. Along with that, we also want to introduce the world to these brands that are rooted in India and are doing wonders by themselves. We have only curated the most artistic designers and with this pop up we are giving only genuinely interested buyers a chance to interact with one-of-a-kind unique designers that they have been looking for,” says Monali Dhawan, Founder of V.A.D.
